Bishop (n):
The leader of a ward. In the Mormon church, all clergy are lay-clergy. They have careers outside their church service, and are not paid for their church service.
Ward (n):
A Mormon congregation, the membership of which is usually determined by geographical boundaries. Most wards have between 100-500 members.
Mormon (n, adj):
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). "Mormon" is actually a nickname for Latter-day Saints, derived from the Book of Mormon. It can also be used as an adjective, as in "Mormon cinema."
Book of Mormon (n):
A book recognized by the LDS Church as scripture, used by church members as a complement to the Holy Bible.
Jack-Mormon (n):
A nickname used to describe members of the LDS Church who do not adhere to church standards.
Deacon (n):
An office in the priesthood, usually conferred on worthy males at age 12. Young men holding this priesthood are also called Deacons.
